Tech for Students
Types of devices and platforms your school uses: All students are assigned the same device- Chromebook by Lenovo- a versatile, simple and easy to use, cost effective and where each student with access their classroom resources around the clock.
Login info or parent guides for key apps (e.g., Classlink, Schoology, etc.):
Each student receives a unique email/username and password to log in to their school device. Once signed in, they have access to a personalized dashboard of apps tailored to their grade level. For example, a first grader will see a different set of learning tools than a seventh grader. In addition, all students are provided free access to powerful productivity tools — including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel — as well as Google apps such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides. These resources help students create, organize, and share their learning in meaningful ways.
Technology use student agreements
At Wirtz, technology is a powerful tool for learning — and with that opportunity comes responsibility. Students are trusted with access to District devices, accounts, and networks, and are expected to use them safely, responsibly, and only for educational purposes.
Core Guidelines
Technology use is a privilege, not a right — access may be suspended at any time.
Students must protect their accounts and passwords and never share them.
District technology may not be used for inappropriate, disruptive, or harmful purposes, including cyberbullying, sharing personal information, or installing unauthorized software.
There is no expectation of privacy when using District technology; activity may be monitored at any time.
